In many ways 2021 was a hard year for everyone, and Cave Mouse released her sophomore work in its aftermath, bringing about a new sense of artistic maturity and craft of vision. NEW is a collection of new and remastered tracks from previous albums. put together like a nice tasty peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

To me NEW is a physical representation of taking a risk and going through a new experience. It starts off exciting and as it slows down you begin your descent into uncharted, frustrating territory, like you're slowly descending into a hot fiery hell. The album becomes much crunchier and freakish until it starts to level out again. letting you look back and remember the whole experience.

That's just what it means to me though! I moved, got a new job, had a weird break up, lived in a school bus with like, mice and shit running around eating my shoes. Makes sense I would feel this way about my art.

I like to imagine you popping this bad boy in your cassette player. Or hitting play on your computer. Laying down on the floor or your bed. and going through this new experience yourself.

I hope that wasn't too pretentious but I'm just real proud of this project. glad I started and finished it !
